Local Non-Profit TransOptions Announces Name Change to Avenues in Motion
LOCAL NON-PROFIT TRANSOPTIONS ANNOUNCES NAME CHANGE TO AVENUES IN MOTION
(Cedar Knolls, NJ)– TransOptions, a local, award-winning Transportation Management Association (TMA) serving northwestern New Jersey, announced today that it has changed its name to Avenues in Motion. The new name is accompanied by a new website, logo, and branding that reflects the organization’s mission to enhance community health and wellbeing through transportation options.
“We decided that now was the right time to better define our role in improving the quality of life on our roadways and in our communities with a name that encompasses all that we do,” said Avenues in Motion President Daniel Callas in the organization’s announcement this morning.
Avenues in Motion, formerly TransOptions, has been recognized nationally by safety organizations such as the Governors Highway Safety Association and the National Safety Council. The organization provides support and educational programs to communities, businesses, schools and other groups on issues related to transportation safety, the environment, and sustainable commuting options. Avenues in Motion delivers programming throughout Morris, Sussex, and Warren Counties, as well as the suburban communities in western Essex, Passaic, and Union counties.
“Avenues in Motion is more than just a new name. It’s an objective for us, and a guiding principle,” Callas said. “Avenues in Motion are ones that benefit everyone, regardless of ability, age, race, or income. Avenues in Motion are active, safe, and vibrant. Avenues in Motion are ones that improve the health, wellbeing, and economic vitality of a community.”
Avenues in Motion has been serving the area since 1986, first as Morris County Rides and then as TransOptions. As a TMA, Avenues in Motion is tasked with implementing strategies and programs that address traffic congestion, economic development, air quality, safety and livability issues related to transportation. The organization will continue their programs and mission for a safer and more mobile future as Avenues in Motion.
“While the name may be changing, we’ll still be delivering the same level of high-quality programming that our partners have come to expect over the past 36 years, with plenty of new and exciting offerings to come as well,” Callas said.
